kdice ruined for new members

I read a post earlier about how kdice has not been as fun for older members, due to the amount of PGA, Social Networking or whatever you like to call it. I am a relatively new member to kdice and certainly dont know people on the website, and I am beginning to find that this is a large factor into winning or losing matches, which gives only 2 real options if I were to want to do well in kdice: create a little gang of my own of just give up and find a new game to play.

I became extremely frustrated today while playing on the 500 table Vohaul. After my first game, I sat down again to 4 new faces, not thinking anything of it continued to play the game as per usual, and due to a nice start and lucky restacks managing to put myself in a great position knocking out 2 players. Thinking I have the game in the bag as I knock out the 2nd, I noticed the oddity that the other 3 all seemed to have extremely high stacks, myself owning over 1/2 the map didnt really think much of it, thinking that as per usual people would flag to me and id let them duke it out for the lower lands. Little did I know this was a pre-arranged friend group who then proceeded to 3v1 me into the floor, as I barely scraped out a 3rd place finish.

I sat back down again in the same room, still relatively annoyed at how the game before had turned and again proceeded to play. Yet again I had a decent start, good restacks and managed to put myself in a good position. Myself and one other player were obviously front-runners for the win, but after taking a look at my positioning I opted to flag out for 2nd place. Stating this to my opponents. This is when I finally realised just how far this "friend group/pga" whatever you call it, was going to abbuse their alliance. The leader decided to continue to attack me, while the 3rd place person also moved in (which would have been fine as I figured I could 1v1 him/her without difficulty). But the added attack of the #1 player and 3rd broke me down, only after repeated complaints to #1 to let us fight it out did he stop, so I could focus on 3, although I was already down an extremely large amount of dice I thought it was still possible. After a number of attack/defends for both sides, me and #3 were basically where we had started off, red gaining 1 additional position, when #1 all of a sudden decided that #3 was sure to win and crushed me into a corner. After a large amount of b****ing at the #1, I gave up and flagged out for 3rd. But that wasnt enough, their other friend had been sitting in a corner with 3 lands doing nothing, and the other 2 proceeded to clean me off the map resulting in a 4th place finish and loss of points. This was the most frustrating gang attack Ive ever seen, although Im sure its happened to many others. I do think there needs to be some sort of punishment for people who do this, as it really ruins all the fun.

I have no problem losing games, getting knocked out as this game is largely based on luck in positioning/stacking/rolls (obviously). But adding in this 3rd factor can completely outweigh all the other 3 combined.

This is largely just a rant to vent some pent up frustration, but hopefully something will be done in the future to help prevent other people from being victimized as I was.

Moorcroft-
There is only one person who can begin to fix the problem. That person has proven himself to be inept for over two years. It is foolish to hope for a remedy.

You need to either learn to accept the lack of competitive integrity that exists here, or quit playing the game.

Typical kdice sociopaths. If they had functional social skills, they wouldn't be spending all their time griefing others in a simple strategy game. Kdice used to be a great place to drop in for 15-20 minutes to blow off steam. Now it's just an invitation for frustration and irritation.

These sorts of websites live and die by their userbase. I'm not sure what Ryan has planned here, but if he doesn't clean house, he'll be left writing code for an ever diminishing bunch of grunting apes. Good luck cashing in on that.

^ Its kind of funny how, in the majority of online communities and games that become very popular, the management role moves from improving their site to moderating the community.

This is a great example of a failure to rise to the occasion and remove undesirable members, and what it leads to.
