But in a long term view, definitely not except if your average luck is upper than 60 % in the month... |

at 9:44 AM, Wednesday April 1, 2009 EDT I didn't play any games other than 0's and 100's this month, so my view on this subject is decently objective. In my tours around the tables, especially towards the end of the month, I saw many, many 2k tables running with ZERO trophies amongst the 7 players. I saw a far more diverse group of people playing the 5k tables than ever before.
The point increase has a lot to do with this, since there are many more players with 10k+ points that are willing to "risk it" on the higher tables. I think it is becoming much easier for "newer" players to have success on these tables and anyone who calls the upper tables unfair these days has one of two problems: A) they don't understand the nature of diplomacy on these tables (and by diplomacy I DO NOT mean vFlags) B) they only played there once or twice and found themselves victim of a truce and feel scorned Besides, there aren't very many "old timers" left around to constitute this imaginary culture that everyone feels is unfair. My suggestion is to continue to play the higher tables and success will come. Be active in the chat box. Offer a truce or accept a truce at the right time. Be quick to counter other truces. If you intend on not chatting at all and offer up zero diplomacy in a game, odds are that you will not have success at these tables. |
