Ryan how does dom work?

I think I saw him post in one of the threads, so I will try to ask again.
What is the exact formula used to calculate dom? I'm a geek, so I need to know, and it's damn difficult to reverse engineer. |

It's pretty silly, I have played MANY games now where people say they are taking some lands "for dom", but the dom isn't moving. |
