Time to pick up the new trucing vocabulary

Just to clarify to my fellow players. When a player says "truce {pick a color}," any experiecned players immediately counter it, making truces much less effective. To combat this, players have evolved ways to truce without explicitly saying truce. Here are a couple I have picked up:
1) I am cool {pick a color} 2) No threat here {pick a color} 3) I flag to {pick a color} The common thread is that in all of these, the player is saying they will fight with that color until the end, at which point they will flag under them. I realize this is pretty obvious to some people, but it's surprising how automatic a counter is when the word "truce" is used, but how rare it is when the alternate phrasings are used instead. |

I like to offer truces by moving big stacks away from a potential threat, sometimes you take a chance of getting wrecked, but you get to know which players pick up on this silent truce offer for future games. |

The real problem is people want to truce, and truce early. |

at 7:01 AM, Friday February 13, 2009 EST the funny thing about this is that a truce in real life is typically more of what "i'm cool" means in kdice, whereas it took on the definition of "alliance" very early on in the game. so now we've finally established something that resembles what an actual truce is, and people are complaining because "it's a truce"
