Flag no registering

Many times I click the flag and the radio button displays the check mark but the flag doesn't go up. Later the check mark disappears and I try again and it still doesn't work. Anybody else have this problem? It can be highly annoying when you are losing positions because you can't flag. [using firefox on ubuntu]
