Draw as a proxy for tournament standings.

I have figured out a way of extracting approximate tournament standings from the leaderboard data. This is done by calculating draw. Draw is the difference between a player's score and a player's earned points (the latter being PPG x games played). Draw can arise from
Membership bonus (+2500) New stars (+) Negative score reset to zero (+) Tournament winnings (+) Tournament buy-in. (-) Members get an advantage in the draw but also have more tournaments that they can lose points in. For most players, the membership bonus, new stars, and negative score reset will be negligible compare to net tournament winnings. So here are last month's top 100 arranged by draw. Anyone with negative draw was definitely on the losing end on the tournaments. Take jethr0 as an example... How can his DRAW be so low, when he earned +12k in the Final 1k Tournament? |
