flags ruining this game

I have just come back to this after about a year off and have found the idea of flags a real disappointment - games are decided by passive players opting for 3rd or 4th when they still have a realistic chance of winning or worse people flag when they have just got into a lost position and then expect people to leave them alone (which amazingly most people seem to). My favorite so far was one game when I refused to flag, had the luck of the devil and won and then was accused of being unfair!
This is a real pity as it spoils a good game |

If you want to play this style in tourney play then do it there. |

On the lower tables there seems to be a growing tendancy to use "I flagged first" as an arguement when 1st has to decide lower positions. As if flagging first is a virtue or something! Let's look favourably on "I flagged last" instead - at least they tried to fight. |
