Why do kdicers who play fair on regular tables suddenly play like being assholes on tourna's? Is winning really that important? Sure, winning is cool and gives you a rush. But if you win after lying, pga-ing, flag fucking (not ninja) and backstabbing are you proud off your win then? Is it cool then? For me it isn't. Sure i made mistakes in my first kdice days. Had to learn the game like we all did. But now i try to play fair and honor flags, for the sake off the fun in the game i hope you all will try too again. For countering Monte's opinion that lying on tourna is smart: i don't think so. It doesn't matter when and where you do it, it will be always remembered. And you will meet those players again in regular tables or other tourna's. And even in same tourna you meet them again, i often played multiple games in a row on tourna against 80% same players (nice random sitting Ryan....). So try to have fun again all.......

at 9:55 AM, Wednesday November 12, 2008 EST Unfortunatelly, in tournaments the temptation to act unfair is often way greater then it could be on regular table. Sometimes you have to decide whether be fair and be kicked with 0 or be unfair and get a shot on +6k points. And so, slowly an opinion is spreading, that using all means availible to win the tournament is not as bad as using them in regular game. "Its a direct competition at the end, isnt it... And you know, everyone does it, do it as well and dont whine...". If these tendencies escalate, the gameplay on tournys will become very frustrating. Luckily it seems Ryan is well avare of that and already started a crusade against bad manners on tournys. THANKS FOR ALL THE EFFORT AND GOOD LUCK RYAN!
PS: To all the anarchists that will come here shouting "omfg its just a game get life" (hi bozz): Yeah it is just a game. And without fair play, it could become an amazingly stupid game, which nobody would really like to play (not even the assholes who enjoy backstabbing now - they wouldn't enjoy it if everyone did it to them as well). |

at 8:42 PM, Wednesday November 12, 2008 EST I support this 100%. I think games in Tourna should be at least as clean as games outside of them. Using tourney logic to screw people out of deserved places when I think about doing it feels wrong, and all I can do is that same courtesy will be given to me if I earn a deserved place.

at 10:45 PM, Wednesday November 12, 2008 EST If you are using the gameboard and chatbox to imrpove your own position, then you are playing kDice right!
If you are screwing people over to honor quid-pro-quo relationships, then you should be banned. Its not usually a good idea to break a truce, because you are inviting the other players aggression for as long as he can remember the offense. |

at 1:26 AM, Thursday November 13, 2008 EST Mavs, did you miss the point of this post??? While important, what you are saying is not the only thing that should be taken into consideration. You are a huge proponent of tourney logic, and you personally convinced a new player to take me out, even though i was flagged, because of this tourney logic. Leek, you still have no honor, even though it seems your on an endless quest to get honor. I felt sympathetic to you before last night, and even felt your anti-cabal debacle was justified, in an ends justified the means way. But now i will just remember the pathetic way you orchestrated someone else to disrespect flags and spread the tourney logic.
