Top honors in the October PPRSGE (Points Per Root Score Game Equivalent) goes to dasfury, who maintained his lead throughout the month.
Since the new leaderboards include games played, I no longer have to calculate the PPRSGE. I will use a different measure, the Earned Points per Root Game (EPPRG) which is the product of PPG and the square root of games played. Here are the top 100 for October. Shown are rank, player name, score, and PPRSGE. at 10:45 AM, Monday November 3, 2008 EST skrum, thanks again for calculating all this, i know its a lot of legwork.
an interesting thing about ppg stats. das was able to maintain such an extreme ppg because, when he had 2.5k points and less than 10k, he ONLY sat 2.5k tables, no 500 tables. when he got to 10k+ points, he would hardly ever play 2.5k games any more, but only sit 10k. meanwhile, i sat every game i could, whenever i had free time from my family or from work, i.e. on weekends and early early mornings mostly. one of the effects of this schedule of playing was that i didnt have the luxury of sitting on the highest possible tables (there are no 2.5k games in the early early morning until the last two days of each month, and hardly any over the weekends). so it seems that the ppg stat is biased towards players who can play during the work week from noonish to 6pm-ish (EST). what would be a stat that does not weigh more heavily the table level that you sit on? (besides tapl?) im not trying to take away from the obscene month that das had. im just jealous that i dont have the free time any more to play at the same time of day that he plays. if i did, i would pwn the shit outta that nub. i mean, im a titans fan, and hes a ravens fan. |

The PPG is biased toward higher tables, but the PPRSGE or EPPRG removes some of that bias since there are fewer 10k games to sit at. The TAPL is coming back since the percentages have been restored to the leaderboard stats. Also I will be able to establish a zero datum for the TAPL since I can access all players on the leaderboard. |
