this isnt as bad as g00b, but i had a nice 29-round 40% luck game yesterday.

The setting above occured a few days back at a 2.5K table with Ryan sitting and watching. I was the 7th player to act (always fun) and I began with 5 lands; a 5 stack, a 4 stack, two 2 stacks, and a 1 stack. I got 4v4'd and lost.......then 5v5'd and lost......and my 2 stacks were gone as well. My turn came and I had 1 land with 1 die (not dice).

7th place (-1405)

The following short conversation ensued between Ryan and myself:

Thraxle: Ryan..............1 die left.........before my turn in round 1.............did I really deserve -1400 for that?

Ryan: shit happens

I knew you could lose more points in one game. I know you can have worse luck (20.7% is my personal record for a game).

But having 4 games like that in a row to start the day sort of ruins it right away. That was more the point, the series of not quite lucky games. Of course losses could have been increased ;-))

And for Thraxle, as you never will get 1st and earn 1.4k without moving at all, I do think there should be a limit to the losses you make when not moving at all/dying in 1st turn. Personally I think 10% of the table-value or something like that would be fine.

I lost 5k points in one day this month. Totally sucked. Then in the days that followed I would gain 2-3k and lose it all right before I went to bed.

So yes wait until you have a bad streak that lasts more than 4 games. :)
