I was bored and I've been tracking a few games today.
I started with a 500 game (10694486 - atta de heeser), the final scores were: Red: -78 Green: -303 (round 3) Purp: -284 Yellow: +106 Blue: +277 Brown: -314 Teal: +666 (evil, eh?) Total: +70 Oh... no more 0 sum?. I've tracked a new game and the final score was +70 again. (Green and Brown flagged in round 2, getting -455 and -468). Interesting, then I've tracked two 100 games, with +70 as final score. And in two 0 games the final score was, of course, +70. A few thoughts: 1/ There is some point inflation in the system, so the risk/reward is unbalanced. 2/ This advantage is very relevant at 0 tables, where the points in the pot are low. 3/ Avoid to flag at round 1 or 2 (I should track more games to be sure of this, but it seems so -some help, skrum?-), wait until the dom is counting (round 3) and you'll minimize loses. |

The net +70 is split +35 for rank and +35 for dom. With no skill, players should expect +10 each per game, so there is an advantage to playing more games, but at higher level tables, points in play is higher, so there is greater risk that your entire month's gain of points could be wiped out in one bad game. But at lower level tables, there is no opportunity to get the big wins that put you in contention for the leadership. No guts, no glory. It is better to say that in rounds 1 and 2 "the dom is always the worst possible" rather than to say "dom is not counting". |
