Ever since the luck calculator was added my composite luck score has never been 50% or greater. It always hovers around 48-49% even after hundreds of games. Why is this the case? Is it a fault with the calculation or a fault with the luck engine?

at 6:31 PM, Tuesday August 26, 2008 EDT I am not sure about the exact way this value is computed.
Said that, I would guess that one should not get 50% of average luck, because a tie is always broken in favor of the defender. My guess is that if the ties were decided with a new roll (at random), then the average luck should be 50%. |

at 6:40 PM, Tuesday August 26, 2008 EDT You know, instead of luck stats, it should keep track of individual rolls...
i.e... How many times you won a 2v2 (attacking) How many times you won a 4v8 (attacking) How many times you lost a 4v2 (attacking) How many times you won a 2v3 (defending) How many times you lost a 2v4 (defending) etc.. In addition, it would be cool to know how many times you were 'cut' and how many times you 'cut'. True 'luck' is winning rolls you should never get, and bad 'luck' is winning rolls you should win (theoretically you should probably always win if you have 3+ dice on the defender) |

at 7:43 PM, Wednesday August 27, 2008 EDT the fact that a tie goes to the defender should be factored into the luck equation. if its not, than the calculation is wrong. if the calculation is right, then kdice just leads you to have slightly bad luck over the long run. this i would believe given the luck i seem to have in the game. however, i am willing to admit that my feeling of having slightly more bad luck than good could come down to me noticing the bad more than the good. i'd like to think i'm more rationally observant than that, but i can't make that claim with much certainty.
