So, explain to me how it makes sense to have -300 points at the beginning of your turn in round 1?
This scoring system really needs some TLC. How hard is it to require a few rounds before hitting someone for 60% of the table value? |

at 2:46 AM, Monday August 25, 2008 EDT Actually, what you do is have multiple versions of the scoring system in effect at the same time. You have the 'official' one that is status quo, and that's what that month's basis for competition is. Then, you also have one or more additional systems in place that are experimental. At the end of the month, you see which version players find the most satisfying (by a vote). If one version is far superior to another, that becomes the new status quo.
Once you have a change, you keep the previous scoring system as an experimental one, plus any additional systems you want to tweak. You also don't allow changing the system each month. In addition, each scoring system needs to be fully divulged so the average person can understand what the heck is going on. |

at 3:10 AM, Monday August 25, 2008 EDT I don't see the problem.
If you win a game, you easily win 600. That's enough to compensate for 2 -300 6th/7th's. If you do a good job stealing some dom you can limit those bad start losses to -200 or even -125. So how hard is it to win a game once in a while? |
