back to the topic: shitty luck engine other scenarios from shitty luck engine that needs fixing: - being restacked with all power on islands - who is interested in getting all dices from a 6 connected landscape into a single island somewhere on the other edge of the map? It is so annoying. - shared restacking in early game on small countries: you have got 5 connected lands and any few islands. And than all of your 5 countries get 1 dice added - often enough with 1 or 2 as start - so you end up for 5 countries having 2-3 dices. Dead land. How stupid is that? |

at 6:46 AM, Friday August 22, 2008 EDT fohabe, theres a certain element of luck involved in the game. just because things happen which are less likely to happen than the contrary, doesnt mean the engine is shitty, you just have bad luck. end of story! im sure youve also had enough situations where youve won improbable attacks or got perfect restacks in a turn. but of course you fail to notice these. you just focus on the bad luck and conclude from it that the engine is shitty. well thats some shitty thinking yourself!

at 2:58 AM, Tuesday August 26, 2008 EDT "improbable attacks or got perfect restacks"
I would never do improbable attacks. There is no point in eg. attacking with a 2stack against a 4stack. But in opposite I quite often suffer from losing eg. 4stack on 2stacks. How stupid is that? A perfect restack is an "all into one country of a connected". In fact this should not occur in at least first 5 rounds. Have you just watched kdice games? I bet you the earlier these concentrated restacks come up, the ones you are affected have more chance to win. If you eg. got 6 lands connected in first three rounds and got all restacks in one land of the connected area you must do act totally stupid to not become at least 2nd. Luck is more important than thinking - that hurts. I am not saying, that there should be no luck factor. But currently luck and strategy have got very much inbalanced. |

at 6:28 AM, Tuesday August 26, 2008 EDT While I do disagree, there is one thing that I've started picking up on. First round 4v4, 3v3, etc. are easy to determine if you will win or not. Simply by looking at how many 3/4/5 stacks a player starts with, it is easy to determine whether you will win an even attack. Don't believe me? Try it!
