Currently there are really crappy restrictions, like if you're above 2500 points you can't play 100 or 0 level tables. Lol wut?
Anyways, I think we should change that to: 1. Have 100 points or more and you can't play 0 level tables. 2. Have 500 points or more and you can't play 100 level tables. 3. Have 2,500 points or more and you can't play 500 level tables. 4. Have 10,000 points or more and you can't play 2500 level tables. This method will force everyone to play at their own league, and will effectively put a halt to all PGA as there will be new players coming to the 2500/10k tables. KK thx bai, I rule KDice. |

Here are the problems i see: 1. You can lose more than 100 pts at a 100 table, so if you only have 100 pts in the first place, the penalty for losing is significantly less than intended. 2. You can lose 100 pts on a 100 table in 4th (maybe 5th... haven't done my research). So basically, if you have 100 pts and you have to play 100 tables, then you can be back down to zero if you get 5,6, or 7. Not a fun cycle. And don't say get better at the game. So many people on this game are elitist and think that just because they're in the top 100 or top 10 or whatever that everyone should be a skilled player. Some people don't want to get trapped in the cycle and lots of people will. (previous two points are also valid for tables other than 100s) 3. Some people don't want to deal with the "diplomacy" (and I use that term loosely) involved in 2.5K and 10K games. 4. 100 tables absolutely hate me. It's awful. I always try to avoid 100 tables entirely. I.E. get 500 pts on the 0 tables so I don't have to deal with the cursed 100s. 5. It wont stop PGAs because a. They could always tank a score to play with desired people. b. They could always get alts c. Who knows how else... but people are smart, they can figure something out. d. Not all PGAs are on 2.5 and 10K games. 6. Some people don't want to risk all of there points at a 10K or 2.5K game. Call me a wuss, but most of the time I like to play low pressure games. I'm one of those weird combos of competitive and worried about points and wanting to have fun and not make all my plays based on points. I find that at 500 tables I can accomplish both at the same time. So yeah, not a fan of the idea. I'm sure plenty of people will pick apart what i had to say, but there's my input. |

I agree with DLK on table limits but.... I think his numbers may be a little harsh lets say you get two table selections like 500 stops the 0 10,000 stops the 500 but they should not kick in until the 15th of the month so there is enough of a base of higher players to get games started. Ask JPC about the frustration of finding a 2500 point game when there were only a few people with that many points at the start of the month |

at 2:27 PM, Sunday August 10, 2008 EDT Debwa, while you bring some good arguments to the table, the fact of the matter is that PGA is destroying this game. This idea, however, will put a halt to PGAs as from what I see it's always the same idiots playing the 2.5k/10k tables, thus they form their PGAs and have been PGAing for a significantly long time. If we force the new players to go into the higher up tables, it's just like other online games where you fight only within your rank, so if you have 2500 points, you should be fighting within your own rank tables, and the point loss is your problem, it's a competitive game and should be treated as such.

at 2:30 PM, Sunday August 10, 2008 EDT It would do very little to affect pgas. What it will do (and why it was changed in the first place) is keep people with 2.5k accounts from being able to play games late at night (which some of us enjoy doing).
I think the limits are good as is. |
