How do you become a mod?

Just was interested to know how mods get the job. How are they chosen? Could anyone become one or does it have to be someone who is a member and respected in the community with medals?

at 3:53 PM, Friday July 4, 2008 EDT well, I wouldn't agree they're necessarily "long time" players all the time. i'd say they're the only ones Ryan believes who share the same interest/ concern for the community. They shouldn't need medals , nor be members.
