Flagging question

I'm going to describe a scenario that keeps happening to me recently. Lets say green is in first, and yellow is in second, and blue is in third. Other players are still on the table, but they are very weak. Yellow flags second to green. Blue, who is actually stronger than green, moves into first and starts taking over the table. Then yellow starts attacking blue, even though yellow is flagged 2nd. Is this fair in any way at all. Is it even remotely acceptable to flag to one person and one person only? In my opinion it doesn't matter, someone flagged 2nd (especially someone who is actually in third) has no right whatsoever to attack the person in first.

I don't think someone flagged 2nd should ever attack first, unless they are truced with 3rd and are giving 3rd 1st....

agreed, but it keeps happening to me. It's probably happened 6 times in the last two days

Let me get this straight. Green is first, yellow flags. But Blue is third but really stronger than green?

Personally, I don't think this is a question of flag etiquette. Sounds more like the epidemic of flagging TOO EARLY.

I think it sounds like 3 relatively equal players. Time to fight for a win or use actual strategy or even alliances to create your own best outcome. People rely too much on flags to do their talking.

In your case, it sounds like yellow may have wanted to truce with green and a flag could be a sign of good faith, in which case yellow later attacking blue (and honoring a truce) would be fine. But just throwing a flag up is never completely clear, so we're left with more discussion about flags.
