This has been an idea, while not really given too much thought about, wondered nonetheless.
Floundering my way to making t-shirts over the summer, I came in contact with a past teacher to help me learn screen-printing. In the process, he divulged a very interesting website that you may or may not already know about, which would allow you to collect $ on all sorts of stuff without having to actually make them.
