Doesn't respect flags...

You see this statement in so many peoples notes, but do you people not realize that you are not obligated to respect their flags. Why complain about someone not respecting a flag? I understand why you would complain when someone doesn't respect a truce, but a flag? you should quit complaining and get over it. Especially when you are within the first couple of rounds and you flag early! There is a certain time when flags are ok, but not within the first five rounds! Also, those who spread themselves out as much as possible destroying someone else's territory and then flagging for 2nd place! That is just ridiculous! Sure, flagging can be good, but the way that you flag really counts!

I apologize for the rant, especially since a thousand people have probably already went off about it.

Also, Ryan, The old flagging system was so much better.

I haven't been playing much recently, compared to a year or so ago. The rules have changed, and so have the unwritten codes. It used to be that when you truced with someone, this was an unbreakable bond. I never broke truces. Now, we have flags. They are not the same as truces.
When I am in first and you flag for second, I cannot flag for first. I also cannot sit by and watch somebody else win because your flag has crippled me. I did not ask for the flag. I did not agree to the flag. A flag is not a truce.

Your flag should be a statement to the person in first that you do not intend to fight with them, so they can freely pursue other players. It would be bad faith for the person flagged second to attack first place after gaining strength. It would not be bad faith for first to pare second down a bit in order to ensure his own victory. This is just common sense.

Yes, I totally agree. it has changed so much even since I started in January. Which was right before the insane changes.
