Ok so before i get to the point i would like to say that i am not by any means innocent, but i have over the last few days kept myself in check.
I do believe though that there is way too much profanity going on amongst the tables and between players. And i know freedom of speach blah blah blah, but come on people there are kids that play at this site too and i dont think that it is necassary that they be bombarded with vulgar syntax and offensive avatar's. And i know i'll probably catch some flak for this at some point but i could care less. Bottom line, we should all try to watch our language and keep some measure of decency at this sight. De10mile |

You can be mad at someone's move, but there is no reason you can't rise above it. People use the offensive language and avatar's as a tactic to put others off, or off-balance. There is an option where you can list someone as offensive. I would like to see an option where folks can vote on someone, and maybe they get banned from the site after review. In general, there is no reason to use foul language. Then again, I've got very delicate sensibilities. :D |

de10mile, Have you ever sat down for a game of risk, poker or any other game with friends? Tempers tend to flare, even in the company of friends. Sometimes, the language filters our mothers beat into us erode. If this can happen in person with friends, how can we hope to control it among nameless, faceless opponents in kdice? We can't. We just have to man up, put on our thick skin and deal with it. And, please, spare me the old "there are kids here" bullshit. These days, ten year olds swear better than Russian sailors (but not as good as French women, yet). ;) Rules will not change that. Only responsible parenting will. |
