Essentially all die rolls you make in the game are averaged out, and your luck % is how far they are from the expected average of 3.5 per die. Thus, you can make an attack of 2v1, if you roll of 2+3 and beat a roll of 4, then your your luck is effectively adjusted lower, for each roll under 3.5, and the defender (who lost) has their luck raised, as their roll was over 3.5 Luck isn't an indication of 'real' luck, where rolls you expect to win that were lost holding more weight. Also, of course, it doesn't weigh in for rolls that are critical being made (final step of a join, etc) as it can't figure those out. The only way to get, say, 0% luck would be if every single dice rolled was a 1, and for 100% if every dice rolled was a 6. So, while the luck % isn't necessarily a 100% reflection of your actual human based luck in game, you can mentally scale it to anything under 30% being abyssmal, anything over 70% being fantastic, as the alternative would be a complex set of logic routines based on the programmers idea of what constitutes luck, and how much they can make the system grind out in a formulaic calculation for every roll in every game going on at any given time. |

On the other hand, I've programmed MUDs from the ground up (if anyone here is old enough to know what they are), and currently work as a php/javascript/mysql/actionscript, etc programmer, which is what this game is built on, so I'm not just talking out my arse :) And, zoidberg, thankyou, I accept. I'll put it in a trollhide display case. |

Round 1, I was defeated: 3v2 2v3 5v5 And i flagged, having only 1 land with 1 dice. Got 27.2% luck. Ummm .... isn't that ACTUALLY 0% luck??? |

Luck is based on the odds that you will win an attack and whether you win. if you lose an attack that has 23% chance of success then you don't have bad luck (so losing a 2v3 would be normal luck) Also, stop whining. It's unbecoming of a germ/glob/slime looking thing. |
