I have been experimenting with wishbone's rule #7 of his strategy post, "Attack with the outside or border die". (see http://kdice.com/strategies/ideas/44758234 for the entire post).

This is like a boxer sparring with his left while reserving his right.

Use of this rule leads to a more open and, I think, more interesting game. Attacking with the big stacks brings them inevitably adjacent to opponents' big stacks and the game stagnates. Attacking with your smaller stacks past or around opponents' big stacks are likely to result in a loss of your stack but you might be able to force your opponent to pull his big stack back.

I have experienced a small uptick in my attack/defend ratio this month, but I am not up there with the big guys with their monthly 54 or 55% ratios. That is because wishbone has umpteen other rules that I have not paid attention to.

Using bone's rule #7 increases the number of attacks (but also allows more counterattacks, which is why the attack/defend ratio doesn't increase that much) and as a side benefit, luck has a better likelihood of evening out. More attack/defends, the less signifcant is one lucky or unlucky event.
