Dammit I am entitled to a good rant too

Well, I am saving the rant for a better occasion cuz this isn't worth it

Yes I am 6th (probably for only a second or so) and if I checked correctly all 5 players above me donated themselves to more points then me.

But who cares about that anyway, it's the 3rd day of the competition so nobody cares who is first after 20 games. I don't mind if this system is the new deal, I don't care if the points are deducted at some point or not.

I just wanted to donate a star this month. I am holding that off until this is cleared out by Ryan. This will probably go on until Ryan breaks his silence but I will stop commenting on it.

Almost everybody gave their opinion by now. It might have been a good idea to launch the idea to award 2500 for a star at the end of March to discuss it before the implementation in april but WhyTF am I still going on about this, now I used up my 1 rant

well I promised not to comment on this anymore but I had a 40 minute drive home and that's lots of time to think about stuff.

I was just wondering why nobody actually defendeds the new system because it actually has some advantages too. If people chose to spend money on their online games why not let them. How many online games don't offer a free option to get addicted but a member version too to cash in on for the developper. In almost every case there is an unlimited cash spending possibility and people NEED to invest a lot to be at the top.

Because kdice has a monthly reset I just think the star points can be good if there is a limit of say 5 "2500 refills" a month. If your score is above 10k you can't refill any higher (if you drop below 10k and have refills left you can refill again). The HUGE advantage of this system is that more players will be over 10k and might try more 2,5k games or even a 10k now and then.

Now what will a few "bought 10k" finishers at the end of the month influence the ranks? 10k will rarely get you a white medal.

Speaking of medals, couldn't medals be used to give a counterweightto the new star points as well???

Some of us invest a lot of time every month to earn that shiny medal. 1st of the new month and all that is left is those few pixels extra next to your name. Why can't the medals give you a small benefit in the future without dominating the point system?

This example might need more balancing but something like this: for every white medal an extra 200 starting points every month; 500 for a blue medal; 2000 for 3rd; 3000 for 2nd and 5000 for a gold medal.

Someone with 2 blue medals and 5 white would start with 2000 extra points. Personally I think this will give a small but well deserved reward for all those players that go for a medal once in awhile.

I didn't read a thing you said except this: 40 minutes on the ride home, you shouldn't be thinking about kdice. I made that mistake too often.

I think the point buying will be acceptable as long as it doesn't affect the top25 at the end of the month. Again, limiting bought points to 10k will ensure that. It will offer the advantages for the buyers (can play more high stake games if they desperately want to enjoy these thrills once) and the other players (more action earlier in the month).

Kdice will be even more like real life now. To succeed in life/kdice your either need to be:

*smart(insert name of any well repsected player Wishbone thanked in his strategy guide)
*be lucky(Goob)
*work long hours or get 2 jobs (bombardier)
*inherit; marry rich or been born rich (I am sure at least one must apply to BatmanDan )

Although this thread looks like your personal journal with at least 90% of the words written by you, i will give you an answer. (Dont worry, half of the posts are still yours)

As long as you cant buy you a medal i dont see why you shouldnt get rewarded for supporting our beloved virtual playground. I havent spend a single bug on this site, and im not gonna do it in the near future, since presently i got more important things to pay for(e.g. trading cards, comics or toy soldiers).

But once get my well deserved job and a huge load of cash, i might think about donating to this site instead of buying me a few square inches of rainforest.
