But to be honest I do agree with Monte on this one:

I had the joy of reclaiming my silver spot on the last day playing 2.5k and 500 games. Monte was sure he got the gold by resting almost a day before end on 100k whilst he had a gap of "only" 22k between him and second.

The lack of 10k games makes it impossible to outrun the really crazy players who never sleep and pee in cokebottles whilst playing.

Why aren't people playing 10k?

1. For some reason mediocracy is considered hot. (wake up people: communism has been put to the test already)

2. MY PRRRRRRRRRRECIOUS POINTS - syndrome: I have got enough points to get a blue (pfizer) pill: Who cares if I was 99th or 26th I got me an eternal medal (without ranking ID)!!!

3. BAN THE CHEATERS: The rare pro Kdice breed that isn't afraid of winning and losing 10k games CANT SIT TOGETHER BECAUSE THEY "CHEAT".
In my humble opinion this last one is the mother of my shortlist. It has been proven already: the "newer" players don't like 10k games and I still dare you Ryan to compare in the open the stats on 10k games before and after the installement of the great RC system.

Some of the RC's that emerged were just RIDICULOUS and you all know it ! This has several consequences:

A. We get treated like 6 year olds in potty school: If I feel the need to make new friends and play with others I will choose to do so myself. Not being able to sit next to the guy/girl of your choice because the "teacher" knows best SUX !

B. Altough I wont argue that there are certainly some RC that deserve being banned. BUT: Some players that didn't have a bad rep eg Sam and some other "clear" player ;) on PGA'ing suddenly get outed as PGA'ers. Now the oldsChOOL gang can laugh at it amongst themselves, but as the goal seems to be to attract newer players, many new kids on the block might get the wrong idea.

C. More and more and more alternative accounts will be used by players who just love to play together but can't because of being RC'd. If your sponsors pay you by the amount of accounts active on Kdice I can see why that is a good thing. And I don't mind the occasional ALT, but my guess is that the creation of "new" accounts has gone through the roof lately and that can't be good.

I didn't want this post to be about the RC bs and I agree with Monte on the point system. But I do feel that the lack of 10k games is Ridiculously Corelated with the RC.

monte your post reminds me a little of your january score. i think giving place 50-100 a little hollow medal is fine. i mean the goal should be to make the players happy, right?

the rare appearence of 10k's bothers me as well. im sitting on one right now. waiting for 3 players. lets just have 5k tables with the same scoring.
