KDice loses a player to new flagging system

I'm sure this will affect nothing, however I just thought I'd mention I'm quitting KDice because the new flagging system is a load of bullshit and chips. The game has become an alliance between those willing to flag to each other. Those unwilling to flag are killed, merely because they wish their point total to reflect their skill, not their ability to persuade others to spare them. And that's what flagging is: it's asking (begging) the stronger player(s) to show you mercy.

The new flagging system encourages cowardice and complacency. As I've read elsewhere, it has "neutered" KDice. Targets should be chosen based on their strategic merits. As it stands now, the one unwilling to bow to others is the one killed first.

Goodbye.

The new flagging system is good, I like it.

You wanna know what I see as cowardice? Someone who just gives up and runs away from the game.

The new flagging system offers a new way to have to think when confronting multiple opponents. you need to use smarts, not run away.

i think at times it really helps the person who is in first cause now you don't have to worry about the other person attacking you. I really don't see it as cowardness just a new level of intergue to the game and strategy

I'm obviously in the minority here but, I agree with SDZion. The flagging system is flat out retarded. An excellent demonstration of the neutering of KDice can be seen in this very discussion:

"i think at times it really helps the person who is in first cause now you don't have to worry about the other person attacking you."

Seriously? It's an improvement to a game that you don't have to worry about being attacked? That's the very definition of "cowardice and complacency" and that's what this flagging encourages.

So why don't we stop with the knee-jerk "oh god" responses and start actually thinking about what's being said.

The new flag system has more ways to abuse than the old surrender flag, I can fully agree on that. However this new system also opens a lot more opportunities for a player to use his skills to get a good finish.

I didn't like the change either at first but in time, you learn to adapt your strategy to it. Actually it doesn't change a lot for the aggresive players, I just had to adapt a bit in the games when I am on the defensive.

my conclusion: keep current system but add surrender option + prevent flagging before round 5 or 7 + prevent ninja flag when your number of lands is obviously not in correlation (new RC lol) with the place you flag for

aaargh, if only i could edit my posts, I could change "number of lands" into "#dice and dice/land".

I'm torn on the new flagging. It does seem to eliminate some earlier problems, but it seems to encourage earlier surrenders. And that has reduced some of the end-game battles and strategy which are great.

I don'r reckon it's begging....scratch that, I don't reckon it's ALWAYS begging, if someone flags for a position without 8 stacks, I'm likely to kill them anyway, so it doesn't really work out like that....just because someone flags doesn't mean you can't attack them anyway.

I do think the new system would benefit hugely from a suicide button though, farming is becoming more common place.
