but this race to 1st was killing me. I wanted to achieve it once but it is becoming increasingly difficult these days to enjoy such kdice happy moments. I am thinking to retire again for a week or so just to enjoy the thought of being able to reach 1st and not worry about being overtaken all the time.
The monthly race has become more and more like a survival race: who can win points the longest wins it. Last month I had to retire for a small week because *1 of the reasons being* the race was just getting too frustrating. The last day I played, I was thinking of tanking my account 46k too like Benghee did yesterday but luckily I stopped just in time before too much damage was done. Now I am not at all saying whoever is in the top25 now doesn't deserve to be there since obviously it is not only by playing lots of games alone you get there. Nevertheless, my respect goes out to people who are able to be in the leader board by only having played 50 games or so by now. I don?t really have the time for it but I just couldn?t help myself playing the 500 tables again because it took a while before 2500 tables were filling up. I just whish there could be a way to stop myself from playing this many games early and to have a shot at top25 anyway. So far I see 3 ways to do this: A)ultra-light version: I will just have to find a way to control my urges to sit early on in the month and try to limit my games to 100 a month. Any help from players to convince me not to sit too much at the 500 is always appreciated. B)medium version: Nothing compulsory but if Ryan at least could add the option for anyone who wants to use it, an option in your profile where every month you could enter the maximum number of games you allow yourself to play. I would put it at 100 or 125 and this would force me to only play 2500 and 10k. Hey I am just a man, I am weak, I NEED those kind of boundaries. This limit could exclude 0 or 100 tables on the last 2 days of the month in order to be able to 7w3ak your score C) my deluxe version: I would like to find a way to combine the good things of the ELO point days with the good things about the current point system. During ELO days, playing lots of games wasn?t needed but there were other things that made me retire during those months anyway. What if, for the members, you could chose what your player profile is. 1) casual player: 2500 starting points, unlimited number of games allowed 2) semi-competitive player: 10000 starting points, only allowed to play 500 tables or higher, maximum 150 games total, 80 (or 100) games minimum with at least 20 (or 25) of 2500 games 3) competitive player with not much time to play: 25000 starting points, only allowed to play 2500 tables or higher, maximum 60 games total, 40 games minimum with at least 10 10k games If you don?t play your minimum number of games required, your score is not taken into account for the leaderboard. I doubt beginning players that take option 3 will end up with a lot of points in the end so what?s the harm. As a result of this new point system: we will have much more 2,5k and 10k games (woohoo for the people that like big stakes), beginning players won?t complain any more about ?elite? players roaming around the 500 tables, skilled players with not the time to play 300 games a month have again a good shot at the leader board. I also write this post because I have seen way too many great players drop out lately that stop *at least for a part I think* because they can?t invest the same amount of time each month. If you think about it, it is getting crazy. Take 300 games a month, 4 games per hour on average (including waiting time, forum time,?) that?s 75 hours a month . If you play 25 days a month you are kdicing 3 hours a day. So join me all at the next KA meeting! Ryan, I love your game, actually it?s too good so I hate the addiction part! There should be a warning text like you find on cigarettes boxes: Too many hours of kdice can damage sperm, reduces the fertility and can cause impotence. Kdice can lead to a slow, painful death. Kdice increases the risk of fatal heart- and lung diseases. Your physician or pharmacist can help you to quit kdice. Well the kdice server was down again today so I had time to write a bit. Thanks all for reading at least a part of my long post (did I make it on the longest post all time leaderboard too?). |

KDICE needs good merchandise, we need T-shirts an mugs. I was thinking of prints like: * I played kdice for a month and all i got was this lousy GIF medal * I survived the MSAK of February 2008 * Why me red? I never attacked you |
