Reactions After 1 Week

I have been playing this game for about a week, and here are my reactions:

1. The only way to get a high score is to play a ton of games - yes you have to have a certain amount of skill to move up rather than down, but the top 25 are not the "best" players but those who spend the most time playing.

2. While cheating may be rampant, accusations of cheating are off the charts. I was accused of PGA 2 times before I even knew what the phrase meant. I also had people go to the forums (which I didn't know existed) to complain about my cheating, just because they lost points. Cheating may be bad, but buckle up people, paranoia is even worse.

3. Bugs. I lost a 695 point win from my score history, reported it and heard nothing about it. I've had the screen scroll off the page, been unable to move during my turn for whole games, etc. It is hard to climb the ladder when technical bugs keep pushing you back.

So, in the end, I think the game is fun and the player dynamics are fascinating, but I am moving on.

1. You dont have to play a ton of games...ive played maybe 40 games this month and im top 10 and you've played like 70 this month and well...you're in the negative for the month.

2. Why in the world did you buy a one year membership for a site that you never played before....and then quit? Either you like throwing money away or you didn't know that this game was free.

3. The way you talk...im 81% sure you're an alt and wont quit...cuz damn that's a waste of money.

1.
you dont need to play a ton of games to get in the top 20. Of course it depends on what you mean by a ton.

I have played 36 games so far this month. A rough extrapolation would predict me to have about 220 games played at the end of the month. That might be quite a lot but it certainly aint a ton. If i keep winning games at my present rate, i will most likely stay in the top 25.
Therefor i claim to be one of the best players.

2.
i totally agree.
3.i checked your profile. it seems that this particular game you won didnt add to your total score. This sucks but rarely happens. For the other bugs i suggest the refresh button of your browser.

honestly you really only have to play like the last two weeks when points are more easy to come by.

the points at the beginning of the month overshadow the last two weeks.

Think about it, first place got 100k, or let's be more realistic and say on avg they will get 80k (since we all know monte is a huge cheater).

To achieve first, possibly you need to play many games accompanied by "helpful" players. But to achieve top 25 you really don't need to do all that much. Just play, learn how people play, and learn to adapt.

Also tech bugs really don't factor in at all. If you think about it almost everyone is affected by lag and/or bugs at some point so it all evens out.

and yes, it's true paranoia is worse. But the problem with the current popular playing style is that it encourages being vocal in the chatbox, and more often than not, the newer player will get the shaft, as he has not built the same relationships as other players.

It is a problem which I think might fix itself in the long run, as people adapt to the RC detector.
