okay, so, here's the scenario.
the board is pretty even, but a couple of players have grown strong. a weaker player, sat to one side and evidently due to be eaten up in the next few rounds in the natural order of things, announces in the chat box that he is 'flagged' to the larger player right next to him, while not actually flagging. after a couple of players point this out, however, he ninja flags for third. the larger player (red, i think it was in this case) pays no attention and takes him out anyway. he then proceeds to whine for hours about how his flag "wasn't respected" and generally annoy the whole room. flagging is meant to mean that, when you've flagged for a certain place, you can't get higher than that place, surely; not that you "deserve" that place just because you put your flag up for it first, and that you can slate anyone who thinks otherwise? this kind of whining is really getting on my nerves... |
