Flagging first

If you're in a game and player A flags, but then player B wins a decisive attack against A and flags for that same place, who do you think should get it? (I'm not talking about obvious ninja flagging.) Many seem to think player A should get it just because he flagged first. But if a player flags for a position, shouldn't he be required have the muscle to back it up against players below him? I'm curious what other players think.

Of course A. The situation can be as follows:
A flags and just waits for the 3rd and 4th to flag. B is 3rd and dose not flag , cauz he has only 5 stacks. After 4 turns he is strong enough to attack A. But meanwhile A had the chance to kill him, did do it, cauz he was happy with 2nd. B is a fucking loser, and didnt want to admit that he should get 3rd and begins attacking A.......

Ok, so maybe the solution is that if you're in a close race for 2nd (3rd, etc.) and the other player flags for it, you immediately announce you have no intention of honoring their flag because you think you can take them. (While reassuring 1st (2nd, etc.) that you realize this fight will keep you from being able to take them, too.) That's fair, right?

yeah, thats fair. And most of the ppl are respecting it. If not, and i am 1st, they die.
