at 5:06 AM, Friday February 1, 2008 EST I hope so too, I still you lose too much for first out and gain too much for 1st.
I'd like to see it more evenly distributed. |

at 5:20 AM, Friday February 1, 2008 EST 1) points inflation for high level tables was a good idea but a bad idea to implement it mid month (although it didn't hurt me much since I didn't play that much first half of Jan)
2) points inflation was justified because now you couldn't finish top25 without playing 10k + as an added bonus an estimate of over 100 different players reached 10k and played the 10k 3) awsomeness scares easily |

at 9:09 AM, Friday February 1, 2008 EST Good points Jurgen, well made.
Trouble is, I think that the rewards still need to be tiered more. I made most of my 25k points on the zero tables, low risk, high reward (as a %) |

if you can make 25k by mostly playing at the 0 tables, why not play a bit more at 500?. I can understand that you wouldn't feel confortable playing at the 2,5k or higher but in my opninion you could easily play 50% of your games at 500. don't forget that the current point system has positive points if you all point loss/gain for all 7 players. If you are not a terrible player (which i assume you aren't) you will gain much more points on average/game at 500. Sure, risks are a bit higher but the rewards clearly outweigh this. Haven't you noticed that players at 500 tables play with better strategy then new players at the zero tables where nobody has much points to lose. Sure you can outsmart them more but they ca nalso ruin your wins by doing stupid things to your strategy. So in the end, I don't think your win% will change much by playing higher tables (2,5k or 10k is another story) so in the end your points will go up much faster and you might end up at 40k instead of 25k. Maybe you might get a bit more comfortable at 500 and 2500 later on if you started the day off at 100 table and after you gained a few 100 points, just say to yourself it's ok if i lose those at the 500. You would be surprised how fast your points will climb if you start playing without fear of losing the points. |
