Ryan,

As much as I loved playing your game, I think that there's still a problem that you still have yet to address: the casual players.

It was the casual players who were hurt the most in the leap from elo to the new scoring system. Before, there was a goal that every player could work towards, no matter how often they played. You could reach the elite tables "the 2k" only playing 20 games a month, as long as you played for a few months. Now, those casual players are reset to 0 every month, dooming them to the 0 tables for most, if not all games for the month. It’s very discouraging for a casual player. Many of the former 2ks didn’t play that often, but they did enjoy the ability to play a “good” game.

While I do agree that that might be taking a step back in the wrong direction, I would hope that you would see the truth in that. Maybe if there was a score decrease over time, pushing people to play, say a 1% point loss per day for inactivity.

You created kdice as a business. You have tried many business models, and there were flaws in each. Hell, some of the ideas that Skrum has had over the past months were great ideas. If I was making an online game, I’d hire/ask for his help immediately. I’m not trying to force any ideas on you, I am just trying to point out a problem that has come to my attention during my time away from the game.

That is all.

Not that it much matters, but if I still had an account that could play on the highest tables, I'd play occasionally.
