An interpretation

What was the beauty and ugliness of the stormy events yesterday?

But first - a piece of advice to all who try hard to get first place in a monthly competition. It is a noble goal, but relax - on February 5 nobody will remember your win from January!

So returning to the main question.
We have seen some ugly characteristics of leekstep's way to January greatness.
We have seen not-so-beautiful way of dealing with it by Ryan - reseting leek's account without any explanation to the kdice public. And I am sure that kicking someone from leadership in this way is something which should concern the players!

After some time we have seen the reasons why this action was taken, even if - at least as far as I am aware of - not officially from Ryan.
Of course we have heared typical kdicefreak's and PGA Minitor's voices of condemnation and "Its Ryan s game he may do whatever he wants"

But what was beautiful?

It seems that we were witnesses of awaking of the kdice society.
The players were surprised by these events, they demanded explanations - and finally received at least some explanation.
This, just taking shape, public opinion may be a great force.

As ugly as different types of "cabals" are, the way to deal with them by forming anticabals becomes as ugly as the initial problem.
But bringing light of public opinion to such situations is much more powerful.

So please continue this trend.
If anything really concerns you - especially at the higher tables and inside the top 25 - tell about it publicly.
But not through easy condemnations, accusations nor in an aggressive way. Voice your doubts. Ask questions. Be polite.
And we will witness a new beauty of healhty kdice competition together with great relationships between players!

"I had a dream".... may it become reality!!

Cleopatra, I am genuinely moved by your plea for more positive attitude here in kdice.

However, kdice doesn't need to become a fake happy pink place for always happy, sorry you got 6th, so sorry but i can't ally you because i never truce, o joy joy good for you you won and i deserved this frikilidokilish 3rd place, hey i don't mind you crushed me it's only a happy game.... No, it is a strategy conquering game and you try to win, that is sometimes done by aggresive moves or mashing up a friend.

So I propose to leave it that way but I agree that some calming down is needed here and please let's all agree to keep the cheating to a reasonable minimum (like only lend your password to 1 person maximum and let him play 2 games/month tops!).

jurgen - I've never ment the attitude you describe above!

Maybe the rules I formulated for myself a few months ago, and I tried to apply while I was still playing (The people who played at that time would agree with me I hope) will express my thought more clearly:

- don't complain about being attacked;
- don't apologize for attacking other players;
- don't blame lack of luck (after many games bad and good luck evens up);
- play to win whenever you may;
- always be ready to risk;
- don't use bad language;
- be friendly, but don't exagerate;
- always keep you word;
- love other players;
- don't lose patience;
- make the most even of the difficult situation;
- try to predict what others may do and what they may think.

As you see, this is quite different attitude then the one described by you in your post.

Well sorry Cleopatra, I really wasn't trying to send out that message.

In fact, the guidelines you describe in your last post would describe the ideal kdice environment for me too. I was just worried that the competitive aspect of the game would be lost if we took things too friendly.

Now I realise you mean exactly the same things as I do. So good thing that I am happily married then ;-).

"especially at the higher tables and inside the top 25 - tell about it publicly."

yet another thread by the so-called elite to try to secure their so-called status......

...these people are attempting to control kdice.....stagging a 'forum coup' to sway thing the way they want. you guys think you are the world police, kdice all-mighty, kdice god.....

i think voicing different opinions should be welcomed, but putting pressure to make ryan do things to your favour?????

you guys have hijacked the forum, and i can totally see the same things happening to the blog.

the minority interest is being ignored.

once ryan yield to these people's demand, it will never end......next thing they want is elo, bring back dicelord, have rnd as the kdice president, delcare pga is not cheating, change all avatars to porn,.......THEY ARE THE EXACT PEOPLE WHO WILL DESTROY THE KDICE COMMUNITY

Kdicefreak, I would like to start off first by congratulating you for tripling your points total the last day you played.

As always we love your contribution to the forum. Keep up the good work and try to triple your points 2 more times so we can truly welcome you in the Elite players lounge. We saved you a nice comfy chair. Careful! there is a certain dress code here at the top so please don't sit in at the 10k tables in your "My little pony","Spiderman" or "Beauty and the Beast" pyjamas.
