Does the new flag system encourage people to just give up?

Seems like the new point system doesn't measure ability to win but ability to give up. I thought I liked it but the end game seems to be completely gone and that was the part of the game that was the most fun. I dunno what the solution is but I know that once you hit the higher tables and this strategy is largely employed the game is a lot less fun.
