PGA's have gotten out of hand.
I thought the situation would've been controlled by now or lessened to an extent, but I guess it will remain a dream. Skilled players will never rank high when all the current top players are PGA and play about 200-400 games. As a late 2006 player I have almost lost all hope for this game. |

at 4:16 AM, Wednesday January 16, 2008 EST I have to agree in part with you Disasterz. It is difficult to keep up with the point race if you have to win them alone.
However being a skilled player should be able to get you in the top 50 anyway. You just have to lower your expectations a bit and play for a good rank but forget about top10. The people that can play that many games or that have that much pga help can't be beaten anyway unless Ryan finds more ways to screen for pga abuse. Personally, a simple positive measure that would help me enjoy the game even more would be the addition of a top100 leaderboard. I don't know if it would be a big extra load for the server to add those 3 pages but personally, I think it would help ease the frustration of elite pga play because places 26 to 100 get a bit more appreciation. I went through the same months were I found myself not wanting to play because I felt there was no use in trying to compete because not all players are fighting with the same weapons. Now I know that I am probably not as skilled as most top25 players (pga or non-pga) but I also know the gap isn't that big and I know where I can end without cheating and that's enough fun for me. |

at 5:05 AM, Wednesday January 16, 2008 EST Hey Jürgen,
i totally agree with u on that issue. Your words speak out of my mind. The only way that the skill level would show up at the toplist was to have no chat box and anonimous avatars. But then it wouldnt be a social game anymore. So the clue of getting the idea not to be able to win a month, isnt to think of everyone is PGA, but that some of us lack of a sufficent english proficency level, empathy and humor necessary to win a "social" game. Thats the real issue: I think we have false expection of what can be reached by pure strategic skills. Conclusion: Players that only play the board and dont interact a lot with other players cant reach Top25. At least at the end of the month. |

at 7:44 AM, Wednesday January 16, 2008 EST My few points :
Tormenta spoke complete truth, no chances for top 25, if ure not going for a social part as u go with skills. The talking and truces at some point usually becomes. Either you have 2 talk a lot and be liked by most ppl (Mikeypoo), have unique strategies and playing-style (grun, panzer, me with pge-ing every1 system and there are plenty more), have lots of pgas (wont mention names), be a truce monster (monte) or just be very very very lucky to get to Top 25 (at least in my opinnion) Next point goes tu Disasterz : not all players have played 200-400 and have pga's. Some of them do that, but that doesnt mean all. A lot of them have OTF's (old trusted friendships) meaning, that they'd rather go screw some1 else then screwing a friend (if there is a choice), but they still attack their friends, when its a must. And anyways, as i like 2 say : a good PGE is better then a bad PGA. And yeah, game changed a lot from 2006 and it became more complex (and better in my oppinion). nEXT point will go 2 jurgen. Being skillful definatelly helps and should get u to at least Top 100, but if ure a social person, u can get more. And yes, Top 100 leaderboard is definatelly a good idea, id vote for it ;) Last point : this is a social game and as long as ppl will have identities and will be table names with this sitting in system, it will stay a social game. And usually ull definatelly will go screw an asshole who is calling u all @#)**%), then a friend with whom u played a lot of fun and nice games. My point, sajonara |

at 8:04 AM, Wednesday January 16, 2008 EST this may become the best post of 2008.
the only way to stop PGA is to ban them (of course only when we have sufficient proof, which is always hard to do). |

at 8:08 AM, Wednesday January 16, 2008 EST one idea to stop PGA have been floating around for a while now.....
don't let people choose tables.....you just line up, say, for a 100 table, and you will be assigned randomly......making it impossible (or at least less possible) to sit with 5 or 6 of your friends. |

at 10:48 AM, Wednesday January 16, 2008 EST if you think that people actually sit with 5 or 6 of their friends, and that's why you're not winning -- or can't compete.. well..
