ninjas still exist - as long as you are not away for 3 consective rounds, you can still come back - i have seen a lot of those happening lately.

e.g 4 players left with pretty same number of territoriesm, someone is in 4th place and pretend to be away, come back after the player in 3rd (or even 2nd) is taken out and thus he/she is able to move up one rank, and then flag.....

my advice: continue to attack away players as if they are present.....they are not really dead until they turn neutral

also, don't let the chat box fool you, someone can actually leave the table (thus a message in the chat box saying xxx has left) and come back.....

It's rarely an advantage to pretend to be away. If you try that, you miss out on connection opportunities, easy attacks to expand, and any chat options.

Let them try that method all they want, I say.

actually verm, to be fair to the freak, I think he means when there are four players left, already pretty well connected - the away can build dice while the others beat on each other thinking the away can be taken care of when neutral. Of course, his strategy doesn't work, because sometimes they really are away, and the person who wastes time on the away will be done in by the active players. I say, if you really think someone is ninja'ing<sp?> the rest of the table should agree to rapidly end turns for two rounds, ideally throwing of the ninja's timing and auto-surrendering him before he can log back in. Just a thought.

I still stand by the fact that 90% of the time that player is better off staying in the game. Perhaps 10% of the time he can catch some noobs and wreck them, but most folks wouldn't stand for it.
