ninjas still exist - as long as you are not away for 3 consective rounds, you can still come back - i have seen a lot of those happening lately.
e.g 4 players left with pretty same number of territoriesm, someone is in 4th place and pretend to be away, come back after the player in 3rd (or even 2nd) is taken out and thus he/she is able to move up one rank, and then flag..... my advice: continue to attack away players as if they are present.....they are not really dead until they turn neutral also, don't let the chat box fool you, someone can actually leave the table (thus a message in the chat box saying xxx has left) and come back..... |

Let them try that method all they want, I say. |

Of course, his strategy doesn't work, because sometimes they really are away, and the person who wastes time on the away will be done in by the active players. I say, if you really think someone is ninja'ing<sp?> the rest of the table should agree to rapidly end turns for two rounds, ideally throwing of the ninja's timing and auto-surrendering him before he can log back in. Just a thought.
