The following is an excerpt from Gruns book of Kdice due this spring. In his book, in addition to writing the forward for the legend Grun, I offered a chapter entitled, "The Masters Moment: Surviving and Succeeding Amongst the Elite"
It is often very intimidating to players when they first try a 1000 level table. The thought of potentially losing half the points that were earned over a weeks worth of play is intimidating. Looking at players sitting in such as Nexon, Count Montenoobie, RND, Mad Hat Sam, Pet, fishy etc.. is no different than sitting at a high stakes poker table with Phil Ivey, Jesus Fergusson, and crew. You're playing with the best kdicers in the world and you better understand how to play at these tables to succeed. Now virtually all kdicers, including my dumb ass, have at one time or another accused the players that are at the boards top month after month of being pga'd. The reality, there is far less of the PGA at the high level tables than the lower levels, but the game is played differently. It is critical that you understand how it is different if you plan on succeeding at the large tables. Traditionally, random players that play a few games a month at the high tables are feasted upon, as they do not understand the dynamics. There are a couple rules that must be understood. Each of these I will go into great detail later in the chapter. The three keys to success at the 1k, 1)Know when to fold them 2) Love thy neighbor as you love thyself 3) Make the lying, backstabbing son-of-a-bitch flag To read the remainder of this, where the details of this enormous wealth of information is shared, you will need to buy the book. Stay tuned this fall for Gruns world on Direct TV Channel 6969. Big Jumblies is lining up the guests so expect BIG THINGS. |
