I have been experiencing some unexpected lag, mainly in the chat box. Game runs fine i guess but to complete 1 sentence in the chat box I have to click 10-20 times with the mouse in the chat window... sometimes once for every character.
Since diplomacy and sucking up in the chat is 75% of my gameplay ;-) I am really fighting my games blindfolded here and on one leg with one arm tied to my back (and a hot blond girl rubbing her naked body against me but no need to get rid of that distraction for playing kdice- just a bit of help getting rid of the blindfold will do). As the game ends, chat resumes as normal (or 90% with no lag). If a turns takes a bit longer I can type a few characters more. So I am guessing it really is a slowdown due to my PC and not really server lag. However I checked my CPU usage and although the new version clearly needs more calculation power, I should be fine (<10% cpu used). I tried the kdice.com:8081 port but that doesn't seem to help. Any toughs or tips? I will be playing the 500/1k tables from now on so I desperately need the chat there. So please help me to remove the blindfold and I might share the hot naked lady ;-) |

at 9:11 AM, Thursday January 3, 2008 EST I'm new to the game... and this happened to me in Firefox AND in IE (v6.0). Also, after my turn the game put me in 'Away' status and then removed me from game.

at 10:05 AM, Thursday January 3, 2008 EST update: chat lag is getting even more awful, i have to stop playing until it improves because i am losing (more) games because of the frustration of not getting my chat messages sent. + I lost 2 of my last games because i was trying so hard to type i autoresigned... grrrr.
I was considering becoming a member but if this is the new lag frustration all the time, I won't, sorry Ryan. I really hope it is a temporal startup problem |
