actually, people have a tendency for quite the opposite

players with avatars have statistically higher win %'s than players who have the basic smiley

Player identification is highly important in kdice. If you know you are going to play against someone many many many times in a month, you are likely to try and not piss them off, whereas if you are playing vs someone with a smiley face and they only play 28 games a month or less... what's the real danger in making a pge?

i dunno what chapter it's in, but it's definitely advised to have an avatar.

Now... that said... your avatar is terrible, mate!! :)

I'm sure there must be a better pic of the president. Look around.

I don't have an avatar and I seem to do ok for myself.

I think its more likely the inverse relationship. If you're a good kdice player, you are probably more likely to have the desire to add an avatar, since you've invested a certain amount of time here already.

I would be interested to see average stats for avatar vs non-avatar players, as long as we could weed out the noobs who only played a few games.

clearly, the majority of players with no avatars also play significantly fewer games per month than many of the addicts around here, so that's why the statistic is probably the way it is :)

Vermy, you've got everything, a fan base, friends, a good nickname, you just need an avatar.

My book is how to win at kdice, not how to be a perpetual top 25 player :D

You're a terrific Kdicer, Vermy. If you put an avatar up, hell, just put up a picture OF vermont, I bet you'll win a month sooner than later.

I believe you are one of the exceptions though. I mean, youre the only top player this month without one, is my biggest evidence, I suppose.

Hiding/selling out your true intensions for sake of points and "better status" in "kdice social network". What a prostitute.

I kiss up to no one. You did not understand what I wrote.

The point is that you do not want to make pge's with people who play often. This doesn't mean you can't beat them senselessly in games. The difference is, after you do so, do not call their momma names, for example.

In fact, beating people senselessly is one of the fastest ways to get people to respect you. Fear and respect are highly important. If you want to win games and play around, who cares. If you want to win 1st place, you need to intimidate. Even if you don't terrify people, you need to have an aura about you. When you sit, you are #1. It helps if you can entrench yourself in 1st and hold it for days on end too, but that is difficult with the fluctuation point system lately.

sport is shit. I play here not for sport. Diplomacy with not making pge's and other your thoughts just shows your thinking style, where freedom to have fun and being true for yourself (no matter how much inpolite bastard you could be) are given away for efficiency and championship.
