And old man reflects on RND, Cheating and KDice of old.

People who think they know what "cheating" is in this game should learn to look deeper than surface level details – look around. Research then react. Perhaps they should also learn to have more fun with Kdice and not take it so seriously. Learn to laugh at all the levels of "the game" not treat it as the great moral debate of the new century. Sigh....

Don't make the mistake I made last spring. For some weeks last spring I took this game seriously. We thought RND was cheating so bad that a group of us went to Ryan and begged for changes and to clamp down on RND and “the cabal.” But Ryan ignored us. Even when some of RND's “extracurricular” activities were brought up to him he seemed to suggest that it was part of the game. We came away feeling that Ryan advocated community policing and that doing whatever it took to win was part of this game. Many if not most of the people on the higher tables felt that Ryan accepted this “political component” He even wrote about it on his blog!!!!

So after being targeted by RND and his “thugs” in different games (we were not allowed to advance) my group learned to fight fire with fire. We learned “RNDice,” then we found XLuckX, the all time leading home run hitter on Kdice, then we went after RND and beat him at his own game and dethroned the master. But you see everybody at that point was playing by some version of RND rules because he ran Kdice like a mafia. His genetic code was in Kdice at that point. After RND backed away for awhile, other Cabals and anti-cabals formed -- for a period there was anarchy, even all out war between the various groups. Some of you have certainly seen the many videos and chat transcripts from those days. ;)

During this time, early summer, players from the different factions (on the 2000 tables) came together and asked Ryan for written rules and or changes -- he still would not give us firm answers on the rules or changes.

Everybody wanted to know what the rules were or if there in fact were rules. We all wanted to do “the right thing.” (The rules “no porn, no hate….” were not posted at that point) Many felt, judging from Ryan reactions, that the unspoken rule of Kdice at that point was “anything goes.” When new players would get up to the 2000 table you would often hear someone ask, “is that against the rules?” And then someone would respond, “there are no rules and thats the way Ryan wants it.”

For some of us that had complained to Ryan a strange thing happened. We started to figure out this larger game of politics and kdice.

There was a certain amount of logic behind this anarchy if you knew how to manipulate every part of the system. And this is what RND was brilliant at. He was the Elvis Presley and Tony Romo and Pele of manipulating the system and winning the game. Ryan never hesitated to crown him king back then -- Even when people were screaming bloody murder about his antics! And I remember a time or two Ryan laughing at his antics, cuz RND was such a ballsy motherfucker. And because RND was such a "bad boy" rock star he attracted people to Ryan's game.

However, after he was done with his book, and had more time, Ryan began to crack down on this insane social networking madness. This larger political game was starting to hurt the experience of the casual players on the lower tables. The upper tables were essentially sneaking into lower games and “cow tipping” the lower players. The higher table players viewed themselves as Kdice gods who had no rules. In retrospect it was very unfair to most of the other players. Thus Ryan, eventually, put his sheriff’s badge on and finally cracked down on old KDICE and those of us that he viewed as possible abusers of his game. Many mutings and IP bannings took place. By mid-summer “normalcy” had returned to Kdice-ville. Ryan had restored order...

Old dice is gone: Longlive old Kdice! Longlive new Kdice!

Ryan has changed the game – this was his right -- embrace or play somewhere else if you have a problem with his changes.

However my big problem is the retroactive taking of RND's trophies months after RND retired. Why was it okay then for RND to play his game then and not now after he is long gone? What changed? Did Ryan suddenly realize that dice luck wasn't the only reason RND won those trophies? Noobies and oldies are going to call me some kind of RND crony and I say “NO!” I am the retired Chief Of RND policing, and I am wondering why his older trophies were taken away. Even if you take away the September trophy, why the older trophies from when you allowed that kind of play??

Perhaps RND has done something that has angered Ryan. This begs for deeper questions to be asked.

I don't pretend to know Ryan or RND's motives. But I do remember that not long ago Ryan had no greater ally, booster and friend (in Kdice) than RND. When the change from ELO to points/diamonds, happened and everyone was yelling at Ryan, nobody defended him more than RND. In fact, when much of the top 50 were thinking of quitting after the ELO changes, RND convinced many of us to give Ryan's new system a chance. So what has happened since then?
I sense there is something deeper at play between them. I don’t know and I don't care what it is about – because I refuse to take this game seriously -- but for the sake of players currently playing Kdice, I hope they work it out.

Long live oldDice, longlive newDice etc......

Sincerely,
Professor Mike Y. Poo
The Last ELO champion

I told rnd many times not to cheat/pga and he would claim every time that he never does. Comik is a similar personality. I would try to avoid getting swept up with their ego issues.

One thing both consistently try to do is get people swept up into their causes... and most of the time these causes were negative to kdice. They're desperite for attention and I've ried to push them away from this site but they keep crawling back.

I respect you right to punish people that are hurting your game. Some of us wanted that originally. But I am worried that this sets a precedent. That if someone disagrees with you that you will retroactively remove their achievements. At Best it creates an air of apprehension among those striving for achievements in Kdice. At worst it undermines the integrity of the game.

And I can assure you --100 percent-- that RND did not put me up to this thread. Apparently at 4AM last night 85 posts were erased from various threads, including apparently some from this thread -- this is your right, its your game, but most of the people that posted either hated RND or at least had a mild dislike of him. The posters were some of the most respected members of the Kdice community, many of them were in complete agreement with you.

Yeah... where did my lovely posts go. I was siding with Ryan's right to protect his game and that PGAs were detrimental to the community as a whole. I agree with much of what mikeypoo said, although with a much lighter tone.

What happened?

Heh, Mikeypoo... I disagree.

I don't delete accounts of people I disagree with. If you think back this should be very obvious. How many times have I changed the rules and had people that disagree post in the forum. There's lots of disgreement. That's not the issue here. The issue is abuse...... if you're abusing in someway then I have to take action because I want people here to not have to deal with it.
