Point Loss in Flagging

OK, Ryan, can you explain me this:
JDizzle787 finishes 7th in round 1.
Rank: 179th Score: -72 to 84â—†.
(-36 for 7th and -36 for dominance)
JDizzle787 stands up

When the hell did you put in Dom. as a part of the loss? I was just playing a 10 game, and as far as I know, the scores are irrelevant compared to the other players. If it's still the betting style of points, then WTF? I noticed I would only be losing the -36, then I get another -36 shoved up my ass.

I'm pissed because this is a hidden charge as of yet, and in another forum post you DID say somewhere you would try to alleviate the hurt that people got when they came in 7th.This isn't helping, nor is it a an improvement to the quality.

I don't know why you can't flag out and lose no points in the first round if you get a bad start. The other players could just go on with the points they have to bet with themselves. Perhaps a bonus or a side pot of points. I don't know.

All I can say is that point loss is probably the largest area of frustration with this game, and if this is the semi-permanent change for flagging, then I'm out.

Hahahaha... yea this has happened to me a few times at a 10 table... if you get wiped out in the first round its -72. I'd hate to see what it is at a 200 table.

Hmm, yeah. When you lose it sucks. But don't worry, your points weren't wasted. They went to other players.

There has to be some point loss at least for starting a game otherwise you would just hop around tables until you had 4 areas connected.

72 is a bit much though.....how about 36?

I don't even mind if you don't read what I have to say, or if you sum up your response in one sentence to shut me up. I'm doing this mostly for myself.
I don't want to make a big deal out of it, and I'll try not to go on a tangent, but here goes:

I know it sucks to lose (obviously). I understand that I have to deal with that, because of the random quality of the game. In support of my irritating banter, I was recently talking to my brother who used to play kdice. He was active for a few months, then quit. He felt it was too random and that losing points sucked. Adding to the comment that it had changed to involve a betting style of play, he agreed there should be some sort of bail-out procedure so you don't lose points for bad luck.

I still think this is a good game that is unique for it's random quality, and for the fact that you have to deal with bad luck. But in the times I have heavily been active on this site, it's been absolutely irritating to join a game and lose a large amount of points with such little effort.

Of course, it's the pure nature of kdice. Yet the perfect example comes today , even, when for the past about 7-10 games, I haven't lasted more than round 2-3, because of just sitting at the damn table. Even if I get a good grouping of dice, I lose that 5v3 or 4v2 and no other plausible connection is in sight. So, in the end, whether I have 0 points or 1000, or 500 or whatever, it's damn frustrating for that to happen.

I'm really just finally getting it out there that it's really an amazing thing you have running here. The addictive quality is that if you lose those 400 points in that day for the awful, unmanageable starts, you'll be back to win it again, and lose it all another day. Some are helpless and don't get high enough to even have 400 points, others are able to either by luck or precise management are able to maintain high thousand scores.

In conclusion: great game Ryan, I love it, and still play it. I don't know if I can really affect your view on how inconsistent and unstable the whole game is. Just putting it out there.

I think it would be nice to see a 10 point hit, and no start.
i/e if your start really does suck take the 10 point hit and go neutral before you've played a turn.

This would help the poor suckers who sometimes end up last with 1 dice..and haven't even moved yet.

What is great is seeing someone get -720 in the first round of a 1k game. That is the funny.
