new idea for table limits, rankings.

i propose a new system to the scoring rules

use the inflation rate of points to dynamically adjust the table limits.
as the overall amount of points increase (which happens evertime a player goes below 0),the table limits adjust dynamically. so at the very beginning of the month, the table limits are set at 0, 10, 100, 500, 2000 and 10000.

now some numbers: After 9 days, with an increase of 686.1% to the initial amount and a growth of 7.25% to the previous day (modeled in this case as a recessing exponential function (1000x^.7+100)), the table limits would also have increased to 0, 16, 168, 843, 3720 and 16800 [new limit=initial limit *(rate of growth since reset)] This model probably doesnt reflect the actual behaviour of total points (it might as well be linear), but you get the gist of it. now the idea is to push people forwards, make them progress a little each day. actual growth rates could be much higher, unfortunately we dont have any data on this.

to aid the players in adjusting to the rising table limits, the game offers several investment methods. the rate of increase sets the prime rate of the server.
players can then either:
-buy "server bonds", which would grant them an assured interest rate of 60-90% of the prime rate on their amount of points (by default, all of the players points are invested in these bonds), or
-buy shares to certain players, kinda like in a stock exchange. if the player wins a game, a small dividend is paid out to the stock holders (maybe 3% of the points won in that game. this also increases the total amount of points in the game). the more in demand a share is, the more expensive it's gonna be. however, one player can only sell 1 tenth of his points in shares. so a player with 1000 points can sell 100 shares. the price of the share is determined by multiplying the amount of points won in games in this week with the ratio of sold stocks to available stocks. the price of the stock rises as a player gets more successful, winning more points, and being demanded for his success. if the player hasnt been active, the value of his share drops and people are (ideally) going to sell the stock and move on. this is just a quick suggestion, if you have a better idea how to determine price, please tell me.
as far as balance goes: players with low score arent worried about rank anyway, but could improve their score by betting on the right players, thus gaining access to better tables with higher stakes.

now the price of a player's stock could act as some sort of multiplier to the ranking. let's go back towards the old rating system. the new rating would be comprised of two halves: one half is place by ranking, the other place by value. think about the implications to the end of the month: a race would emerge, as to which player can attract the most smaller players to buy a stake, improving his ranking.

the more active and successful a player gets, the more people are gonna want to buy his shares. the more people own your share, the higher ranked you are gonna be. activity is rewarded!

i think this would bring a whole new exhilarating dimension to the game. do you think this would work? please discuss

The Iowa Political Stock market http://www.biz.uiowa.edu/iem/
has voter-share markets on political candidates: if Candidate X wins P percent of the popular vote, the bond for candidate X pays P. The bond price does not have to be scaled to the number of votes cast. The kdice equivalent would be the bond price for player X would be player X's percentage of the total number of player points at the end of the month. For example, if Player X finishes in first with 20,000 points and there are 20,000,000 total points in the system, player X's bond pays .001 points. The bond price for each player will fluctuate from day to day based on the market assessment of that player's skill. The bond price for the player is likely to be a better indiator of the player's skill than the player's current score because the bond price reflects the decisions of a large number of buyers and sellers. No need to have dividends or payouts during the life of the bond because players make capital gains/losses.
