id post it in the ideas thread but it would disapear, and there aint enough room to write.

okay heres my idea -

make some tables that cost points to play, so each player pays x amount of points into a pot to play at the table.

so if there is a 10 point table each player pays 10 points out of there score to sit and play, with a total of 70 points up for grabs.

1st place get 40 points
2nd place 15 points
3rd place 10 points
4th place 5 points
5th place 0 points
6th place 0 points
7th place 0 points

at 100 point table 1st gets 400 points, 2 150 points etc.

keep the flagging as it is, but remove the domination

this could be something to complement the current kdice setup where players can gain points faster, but with more risks involved

what do you people think about this idea?

but you don't loose any points.
That means some dumb dude that plays 24/7 could get a super high score while a skillful player who plays only a few games would be placed behind the dumb dude.
Your scoring system is a scoring system of how many games played, awarded to people who play the most, which is not what I prefer.

you pay the points at the start of the game so if you have 100 points and you sit and play, your points are now 90, so unless you come 1st/2nd/3rd, you don't make the points back.

I dont know put a cap on how many of these games you can play per day, or make it a ratio of 2:1 or 5:1 normal kdice and this version.

people who play 24/7 are gonna have a higher score anyway

Still, your system too much awards those that play more. Most games you play, you will not place lower than 5th and even so, you do not loose enough points to have that much significance to overall score.

True, people who play more generally earn more, but the current system takes points away for poor gameplay strategy, while yours doesnot.

that is not true penubag, i will not say the name of my alt account as im keeping it under wraps but i made it to the top tables (when elo was still in play it must be said)and i wouls like to say that u dont just lose points for bad gameplay / strategy. losing 4v2 5v2 6v3 8v5 etc the strategy is correct and chances are you'll win but the one time it happens when u need it (and expect it) to win it duznt and before u know it, u finish 6th with - x points. it sux. currently i am struggling to get back to top and i dont believe it has anything to do with bad strategy as i pl;ay this game the way i have always played it...well.

problem is now i feel, noobs unnecessarily (hope thats right) 5v4-ing me in opening rounds, at the top, that happens like, hardly ever! i have also noticed i am losing too many 4v2's lately as well and that has kept me bak!

as far as terry's idea goes, its good to an extent however, its unfair in the sense that, if last truces with 1st, 1st wipes board and who was originally last now gets 2nd...thas why domination was introduced.

just my 2 cents

Basically... kdice without dom.

'the ends justifies the means'

penubag... this game wouldnt create points.. so if u played 24/7 there would be no real advantage.

although, it would suck if you dominated the whole game... and got 4v1'ed and ended up losing '10' points.

valid point - but there are ways around this - eliminating the chat box for example, or hiding the users so you dont know who you are playing against until the end of the game or they have been defeated.

you could even have it so if you are last for 5 turns in a row, then your auto flagged, which, come to think about it is not such a bad idea

You would need to implement some kind of idle forced flag. If someone is idle (not attacking) for 7 rounds, they get flagged for inaction. This would prevent the first place player from protecting some unworthy player cowering in the corner.

Seven rounds is selected because that is how many rounds it takes to aqcuire 8 stacks on all your territories. This allows people to still build without fear of being kicked.

Now that I think about it, that wouldn't be a bad thing at the tables now. NOT, mind you, the less than three territories forced flag that was in play a couple months ago. That was no good. However some kind of auto-flag for 7-8 rounds of inaction wouldn't be bad.
