....sigh....
. . ok people ... please listen this time. . . random numbers are random ... it doesnt matter how many times you THINK you should win/lose ... the rng algo still runs a random sequence . . ask any first year psycho student about the HUNDREDS of studies on how humans see patterns in chaos and you will start to understand it a little more . . you WANT to see a patter ... you NEED to see some pattern and so you DO see a pattern . . an old book on the matter can be seen through google here: http://books.google.com/books?id=B4agXAUYv6QC&dq=psychology+and+random+numbers The actual recitation is here: http://books.google.com/books?id=B4agXAUYv6QC&pg=RA3-PA201&lpg=RA3-PA201&dq=psychology+and+random+numbers&source=web&ots=JVMj9Y9Iyr&sig=gnAYa77PNSRIlYqTDxJDk8UVNCI#PRA3-PA204,M1 . . yes, yes, i know ... but you just KNOW in your dear little heart that this isn't really really really really random ... there MUST be something going on! . you are right ... it's your little brain telling you that there is a pattern where none exists . . so listen up snowflake ... it's random ... get over it. |

at 10:21 PM, Thursday October 18, 2007 EDT I want 8 real dices rolled by a robotic arm, in front of a webcam!!
And I wanna clock in there too... yeah, so I know it's not pre-recorded... =P |

at 10:04 AM, Friday October 19, 2007 EDT Dora, the robotic arms were getting too expensive and would break down too often, so Ryan has recently outsourced the dice rolling to trained monkeys. Since their typing skills are subpar while transcribing the roll results into the application, often resulting in non-random dice rolls, he is investigating an upgrade to sweatshops in underpriviged nations. He appreciates your patience during the transition!

at 6:15 PM, Friday October 19, 2007 EDT If the “random†number is digitally manufactured then it is only pseudo-random. Computers are incapable of true random number generation even in today's wonderfully high technology.
The only criteria that online dice rolling satisfies with respect to "random" is that you cannot predict the next roll. And no, Snowflake, that is NOT the same thing. |

. . your constant bitching about how you question the randomness of the random algorithm is tiresome . . even in the face of decades of psych studies that pretty much nail your whining to a cross ... you still think that there is some cosmic force out to ruin your kdice experience. . . you don't think it's random? fine. be a retard. . you want to argue that digitized random isn't truly really truly really random? . retard please ... i don't have the patience for noodle-heads like you. . . DIAF snowflake. |

at 12:43 PM, Saturday October 20, 2007 EDT well umm...digitized random IS only pseudo-random, but i don't see why anyone complains. Everyone is affected by it, and even then the affect is minuscule, not even noticeable. The same things everyone complains about happen all the time outside of the computer. I mean, last year i rolled 5000 dices for my stats project...
So you lost 10 8v8's in a row? Boohoo. Eventually you will win 8v8's in a row, and that usually means someone else lost them. Stop trying to blame the pseudo-random for your bad abilities...it's not the code, it's just that you suck. |

at 1:11 AM, Sunday October 21, 2007 EDT Constant whining? Dude. You don't even know me. I don't constantly whine. I whine every now and then like everyone does when I have a bad streak, but in no case do I ever question the effective randomness of the dice here.
I merely point out that the RNG here is functional, but not truly random. I guess only those of us in the programming world understand that. RNG in the computer world is constantly being perfected and tweaked. Why? Because over large samplings (check that… VERY large samplings) Computer RNG is shown to display anomalies that are not consistent with being truly random. We have achieved a functional level of RNG and that's good enough for me. You really do not know who you are talking to if you think I "constantly" whine about the dice here (show me a post where I suggest the dice here are “broken†with respect to being random). I am certainly not a retard. Then again... I take it back. I've seen the quality of your previous posts on here and I have seen the quality of your character. And yet here I am feeding the troll anyway. Sigh. You're right. I am a 'tard. |
