End point farming - make Kdice into a Sit 'N Go

It occurred to me that one solution to ending the point farming could be to run with the poker method of point "betting", but instead of betting each round, make the kdice games into a sit 'n go format. A 200 point game would cost 200 points to enter and then the points are divvied out as people flag or get eliminated based on a combination of place and domination. Since the total number of points to be won is fixed, farming would be reduced, because you'd only get extra dom, not also the extra entry points each round as it is now. To add points into the system, make each game give out 10 more points than are put in, which would be significant at the lower tables and trend towards zero sum at the upper tables.

at 11:17 PM, Tuesday October 9, 2007 EDT Your idea has some merit except... the person in first is still going to be gaining points and can farm as the longer the game goes the more dom points they will get out of the 'total prize pool' you are suggesting. There's already a cap on place and I fail to see how your method will prevent point farming... granted there may less points total near the end as more people flag but the percentage of the points that goes towards first keeps increasing.
If it didn't keep increasing then there would tend to be a lot more games where the person in 2nd refuses to flag or 3rd or 4th etc... |
