If by "without even playing" means you were in the game but were eliminated even before you had your first turn, the source of the glitch, if that is what it is, has been pinpointed.

Dom is calculated from what you hold at the start of your turn. If you never had a turn, there is no start of a turn to calculate a dom from, so the code has to pull a number from somewhere.

Actually, the time that I saw it the guy who had lost in the first round had already played. I'm not surprised that it would be similarly harsh to someone who hadn't had the chance to move, even though that is probably much more rare.
