There is a clique of people here that *must* be "the best" every month (more than one clique from what I've seen actually). They have alts and they get together and they catapault their main logins to fantastic heights using each other. Bully for them. I have no issue with this. Whatever floats their boat, etc.

My point is, the way the scoring was last month caused these people to be held down into the range of the typical "average" players for most of the month. This sets up issues for the regular people just wanting to play the game, but now must deal with pre-game alliances and all the political infighting that goes with rivaling cliques of people.

With the new scoring, the clique people get their uber scores faster thus moving them out of the way of the casual players for the majority of the month.

Personally, I like this. I have no idea if this is what Ryan intended or not, but for this reason I support the scoring change; Provided a poker style scoring system is to be used in the first place. DiceyGirl's excellent post in her open letter to the community is an excellent read as to why the poker style points aren't the best idea.

But I digress. The higher scores are nothing but good things for the casual player. The only change needed is the 10+ table should be a 100+ table. But that's petty.
