Deep longings

In the last few weeks there were some Forum threads about players leaving or staying in kdice.
I think they may express a deep longing many of us may have. For some kdice is just a casual, lunch-break game. But for many of us it became something more - a place where we want our presence to be noticed, our achievements - appreciated, our leaving - regretted, our harms - pitied, our friendships - real. But unfortunatelly usually it is not so. As long as we are present, we have a tiny place in other players attention, but when we leave - we move into obscurity. Isn't it similar to the real life? We strive for real life "trophies", strive for other people attention and appreciation, strive for social status, we want to prove our value, we hope to be important, significant to someone, to love and be loved... But then we have to leave - and what about our lives? "the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more"... What is the purpose ot this post? There is none. Just a reflection. Maybe just because the summer is over? |
