One of the top contenders in the baseball-style standings, Sergio, has dropped out of the top 25. I suspect that there are other contenders who have never been in the top 25. To see if you are a contender, copy the column headings and first (or only) row of data in your profile and paste (using text mode, not html) into the upper left corner of a blank spreadsheet.
Then, copy the following: =(1000-E2)*0.5+E2*(1*G2+2*H2+3*I2+6*J2+5*K2+4*L2)/6 and paste it into Cell M2, adjacent to the end of your row of numbers. The number you get is your absolute score. The smaller the number, the better. The current best absolute score is 428.45. If your absolute score is less than this, you are the new leader. If you are in serious contention, post to this thread before midnight Sunday and I will work up the final monthly standings. |

A newbie starts out at 500. Most of the top 25'ers down to about 450. You are in contention if you are 450 or lower. |

at 8:56 PM, Friday September 28, 2007 EDT Make this tweak to the formula:
Replace the "/6" at the end with "/(6*SUM(F2:L2))". This tweak is necessary because Ryan truncates the percentages and they usually don't add to 100%. If you have played 1000 games, the gain of a percentage point would mean, on average, a 5-game gain in your absolute score, with a range from 0 to 10. With the tweak, the expected error becomes zero, although there is still a range of -5 to +5. |

No, it means that you are a subnoob. Noobs know enough to stay away from Quattro. In LOTUS 1-2-3, which I used when I was a subnoob, sums are expessed as @SUM(F2..L2). |
