at 12:28 PM, Sunday September 23, 2007 EDT Dices correct me if i am wrong but in the new system you get higher points for risking more on a higher risk table not for playing better players. In the old system you were rewarded for playing better players not for playing higher risk poker. Furthermore i have been told by several prominent players that this system rewards people for stacking the higher table with "point feeders" and not always the best players. I have been told that often these point feeders are moved up the chain under the guise of having "good luck days."

at 5:41 PM, Sunday September 23, 2007 EDT I agree, playing the higher tables isnt playing better players, its playing higher stakes poker.
If you put the top 7 players on a high stakes table, at least a couple of them could lose rank to ppl ranked 8-12. If you're the number 7 player should you be dropped in rank to 15 because you played with 6 people ranked better than you? |

Exactly what Jumblies said. Playing higher stakes does not mean higher skills. It really sucks to play on a board with someone who just wants to mess with people and doesn't give a flying fig about their score. I do care about my score and this game as nerdy as it sounds and I want a good fair game. Doesn't seem to be happening lately. And -- yes Suicide Noobs -- I have witnessed these "lucky days". |
