A down side of the new scoring is the lack of battles at the end of a game. The player in second place can't chance their arm cause they will loose too many points.
Domination is based on the number of average lands. Is this average being calcualted in the best possible way under the new scoring? Hang on Earl, an average is an average, what are you talking about? Under ELO the averages were being calculated over ALL the lands. Under the new system are the averages being calculated over all lands or only over the occupied lands? If its the latter the leading player's dom gets inflated far too quickly. |

at 11:39 PM, Wednesday September 12, 2007 EDT Yeah, I don't quite get why the second place player runs around picking up neutral territory before flagging. Even if your dominance is improving, as long as it's less than the leader you're still losing your ante deposit in every round. The only reason you would continue to play is if you think you have a chance to win.
I think it's just, mind you. If you are in second and you want to take that drunk walk, you should have to pay for it. |
